Sorry for writing in English. Is there any objection to this wiki being redirected to the ch-portal? Angela 11:59, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Or better yet, maybe the portal should be moved to ch.wikipedia.org? Ausir

- This is unacceptable. This Wikipedia is reserved for the Chamorro language, the native language of Guam and Saipan. Under no condition should it redirect to anything having to do with Switzerland.
The problem is, here a lot of pages and lemmas (and vandalism) are written in german or swiss german and they have always to be deleted... --194.9.121.83 09:27, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] . ch is the abbreviation for switzerland
and there is in my opinion no difference between www.company.ch and ch.wikipedia.org.
In both cases I see the characters "ch" and it remembers me to Switzerland.
So I think "ch" should be reserved for pages written in the typical "Swiss" languages.

- No. The language codes used for the several Wikimedia projects are ISO-639-2 standard and "ch" is the code for Chamorro. So everything goes right. --Thogo 14:45, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] CH: Chamorro or Switzerland?
Why is ch.wikipedia.org not the Swiss Wikipedia? --88.77.228.212 13:27, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- Because Wikipedia have language editions, not country editons. The letter code is refering to the ISO 639-1 code for languages and the ISO language code ch stands for Chamorro. There isn't a Canadian Wikipedia either (ca.wikipedia is in Catalan), and se.wikipedia is not the Swedish Wikipedia (it is in Northern Sami). --Jorunn 23:12, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
