Ón Vicipéid, an chiclipéid shaor.

This image is replete with bad grammar. Could anybody correct it? I'll supply the correct terms and double-check them in Ó Dónaill's dictionary. Panu Petteri Höglund 16:43, 16 Iúil 2007 (UTC)

Anois, le bhur dtoil:

  • Goalkeeper = cúl báire (must be two words)
  • Full-back = lántacaí (must be one word)
  • Right corner back = lántacaí deas
  • Left corner back = lántacaí clé.
  • Right half-back = leath-thacaí deas. (Even "leatacaí deas" is possible.)
  • Left half-back = leath-thacaí clé. (Even "leatacaí clé" is possible.)
  • Centre half-back: probably "lár-leath-thacaí" or "lár-leatacaí". "Lár leath" cannot be correct. Could it be "lár leithe"?
  • Midfielder: probably "lár na páirce" is correct.
  • Half-forward: probably leath-thosaí or leatosaí, both are possible
  • Full forward and corner forward: lántosaí.

The GAA should ("should" as in "heavy moral obligation") provide official rules in Irish on their website (but of course they don't). It is a bad joke if the pages about Gaelic games are in crap-Irish and if even I am unsure about correct terminology. I'll ask around, maybe I'll find an Irish-speaking hurling enthusiast. Agus ar ndóigh, níl na téarmaí le fáil i bhfoclóir Uí Dhónaill. Dealraíonn sé nach fear mór lúthchleasaíochta a bhí ann. Nó b'fhéidir go raibh níos mó suime aige sa rugbaí (!). Panu Petteri Höglund 22:51, 13 Meán Fómhair 2007 (UTC)
